Iowa State Research Day: A spotlight on discovery, innovation

  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Building Integrated Research Communities

Through interdisciplinary collaborations, Iowa State researchers are assembling robust teams uniquely designed to address the grand challenges of the future. ISU Research Day is an opportunity for researchers to meet and potentially form diverse teams through the discovery of similar interests.

All members of the ISU research community are encouraged to attend and participate in this event.

More than 300 researchers from across campus attended the inaugural Research Day in 2017. The event showcased Iowa State research accomplishments and provided an opportunity for scholars to discover new connections with potential research collaborators. Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, delivered a keynote address.

“I was thrilled to see researchers from every college took time to attend Research Day and share their innovative and high-impact work in posters and talks,” said associate vice president for research Guru Rao, who worked with staff representing each college and the Office of the Vice President for Research to organize the event. “I saw faculty meeting for the first time and learning about each other’s work, so I’m eager to see new interdisciplinary collaborations that emerge from the event.”

Forty-five researchers presented posters, and 24 faculty members delivered lightning talks. Awards were given for top posters and talks:
