The Grants Hub is a centralized unit at Iowa State University within the Office of the Vice President for Research that provides a broad range of services to help researchers obtain and manage external funding.
The Grants Hub currently offers five services to ISU researchers. Descriptions of the services and links to the electronic service request forms are listed below and on the Grants Hub’s website.
Finding Funding Opportunities: Through this service, the Grants Hub staff will use agency websites and databases to help you find funding for research or a specific program. The databases include Pivot, the Foundation Center Directory, and Grant Forward.
Graphics: Through this service, the Grants Hub staff will develop visuals for your proposals. These visuals include, but are not limited to, graphics depicting research concepts and graphics showing the organizational structure of a proposed project.
Proposal Consultation: This service involves an individual consultation with a Grants Hub staff member aimed toward identifying the key requirements and constraints of a solicitation and creating a checklist of these components.
Budget Consultation & Preparation: The Grants Hub staff offers budget preparation services for budgets with and without subcontracts. As part of these services, the Grants Hub staff will submit the Goldsheet (budget, justification, summary of work, and subcontract information (if applicable)). The Grants Hub staff will also serve as the point of contact for the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration (OSPA) on budget issues.
Editing:Grants Hub staff members will proofread proposals in order to achieve a grammatically correct and professionally polished document. They will also provide edits aimed toward improving a proposal’s clarity, flow, and alignment with the solicitation.
Award Review: Anytime after you receive an award, the Grants Hub staff will review the award, answer any questions you have, and develop an award checklist. The checklist will include information related to compliance, reporting, and post-award financial management. This service will also include a review of the award terms and conditions and reporting requirements.
